12 April 2016

Recently I am feeling uncomfortable surrounded by too many models (broken or requiring 'touch-up') and the general mess of pheraphenalia that comes with this hobby. So last night, I skipped the TV, which was boring anyway and spent an hour to strip out the Farman D332 and throw out the WBP-1. There was a box of parts salvaged from previous crashes and I discarded them, retaining, oh my, so many used but usable servos, receivers, esc, etc. They were placed in the servo/rx storage box where many new and unused components reside. Good that I discovered that I have so many new components now, because I was thinking of buying 3 more 1.25mm pin 1.6gm servos from Banggood yesterday!

With so many things in my room, it is no wonder that I am feeling uncomfortable!

Superglue/Hotglue Removal Tip

There is this tip on FliteTest about using denatured alcohol to debond hotglued components.
While taking out the electronic components from the Farman D332, I found that it works a treat, even though I used superglue and didn't use hotglue.

Next de-Clutter Exercise

My next de-clutter exercise is to pack up two of my lipo-chargers. I will leave one on the shelf, it will be the imitation copy of IMAX because it has the additional feature of providing power to my guitar wire foam cutting hack-saw bow. And I think I shall abandon the carpark flyer and Piper Pawnee project, afterall, I have had my fun and now that the interest is gone, I should throw them away since there is no point continuiing with something that holds no interest. If I shall be interested again, I can always do them again, they are quick to build.
  • lipo chargers
  • carpark flyer and Piper Pawnee
  • Transmitters
  • Glues
