3D Printing

21 February 2025

I do not have a 3D printer, 3D CAD software or any experience.

What is available? MakeIT at NLB. www.nlb.gov.sg/main/services/MakeIT-at-Libraries

How shall I approach this?

  1. Draw in 3D CAD, save as STL.
  2. Slice for print to whatever required and save to SD card.
  3. Book a session at NLB and print.
Choice of 3D CAD
I will use Tinkercad since it is free and web based. All I need is to register an account, learn by 'tinkering' in Tinkercad, draw in tinkercad.

Choice of Slicer will be the Equipment Guide for 3D printing posted by NLB.

What shall I draw? Before drawing, look for ready STL!

  • Spoked Wheels!
  • Thrust button or tubes?
  • Propeller shaft to hold the blades?
  • Pilots? too heavy?
  • Rubber winder?
